Canada trip - Days 3 and 4

Monday, June 12:  We woke up this morning to 25 mph winds and started debating about delaying leaving Moab for one more day or to go forward with heading north.  We went ahead and threw caution to the wind and ventured north. We decided to go a little further than our original destination of Cabela's in Farmington, UT and pushed north to a KOA in Lava Hot Springs, ID.

Tuesday, June 13:  As you can see, this is a very nice park.  This little town is a tourist destination because of their world famous hot pools.  They have a very nice river walk and a beautiful Olympic swimming complex with several water slides.  We were going to stay here only one night but today the winds along Interstate 15 are projected at 45 to 50 mph so we will be staying one more night and let the storm move along.  There is a train track about 50 yards from us, we were concerned that the train would wake us up, but the first night we did not hear anything but the calming sounds of the river.  With our day off we drove over the Soda Springs to check out the "famous" geyser.  It is man made and erupts every hour at the top of the hour.

We picked up a sandwich and had lunch at lake close to town.  Can tell by picture the weather we are currently dealing with but it is supposed to improve starting tomorrow.

We would like to wish mom a very happy birthday.  We wish we could be there to celebrate with you.  Love, Gloria and Steve

Another note -our last day in Moab, the high got to 96, when we arrived here at 3:00 it was a very chilly 46 degrees. Fortunately, the overnight lows stayed in the 40's so the night was alright.  It is supposed to rain all day so will get the Geocaching app going and see what we can find.  Hopefully you will find us in Dillon on the next update.
