Day Five: We drove 225 miles from Lava Hot Springs, ID to Dillon, MT. The weather had calmed down and made the drive much more enjoyable. It was also nice that we were driving through the farm country of Idaho and Montana so the highway was fairly flat and with the wind still at our backs we got very good gas mileage. We have stopped at several rest stops along I-15. They are very clean and provide visitors with information and maps of their state. They sure beat the rest stops in New Mexico.
The weather in Dillon is nice. The high is in the mid 60's and lows in the mid 40's. Our only big event today was going to Clark Lookout State Park. A hill just outside Dillon where Clark of Lewis and Clark stood and made some compass readings that were used by travelers in the pioneer days.
Tomorrow we head to St. Mary's Campground in Glacier National Park. We are scheduled to be there for three days. We are roughing it for a few days and won't have WIFI, unless we go into town or to the Visitors' Center. We will only do that if we have an inclement weather day or a laundry day. We're not sure how good the network will be in Canada so we may not send anything out for those 10 days. We will post an occasional picture on Instagram if Verizon has coverage.
